About Rocky River Scoreboard

Rocky River Scoreboard's goal is to document and promote key strengths of Rocky River as a community to live, work, raise a family and enjoy recreational pursuits.  

Rocky River Scoreboard will analyze data to provide an objective look at the city's progress, prepare public summaries and communicate findings to the public. The data will be supplemented by comments and observations about city assets and issues by local officials and other observers. The Scoreboard is intended to assist individuals, community organizations and media appreciate community strengths and the need for effective, fiscally responsible local government. 

Because it is difficult to find information about local candidates for public offices, Rocky River Scoreboard will provide information and support candidates who are committed to:

  • close budget oversight,

  • continuing excellent public services at reasonable cost,

  • maintaining public safety and promoting traditional values,

  • improving housing values,

  • encouraging small businesses and commercial development, and

  • maintaining academic excellence and traditional values in public schools.

The major responsibility of city government is to create a climate for its residents to grow, prosper and live a good life safely. The responsibility of public schools is to prepare students with the skills needed to be productive workers and good citizens.

About Jim Trutko

Jim Trutko is the editor of the Rocky River Scoreborad, He has lived in Rocky River for 25 years and is a life-long Clevelander. He is an experienced market research and economic analyst, public policy analyst and data visualization professional. Jim has held positions with The Plain Dealer and the Greater Cleveland Growth Association.

He was involved in several entrepreneurial ventures, wrote a report on franchising for the SBA and had several consulting engagements.

He writes occasional articles for Crain's Cleveland Business and counsels entrepreneurs ith Business Advisers of Cleveland. He believes excellent public services and good schools at a reasonable cost are key factors in economic development.

About Paul Gallagher

Paul Gallagher is a co-editor of the Rocky River Scoreboard.

Paul Gallagher, originally from Boston, has lived in Rocky River for 30 years. He has owned and operated three different business his focus on administrative as  well as sales and marketing. Paul traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico with these companies. Currently retired, he maintains a

 shareholder position in one of the businesses.

 He has held a number of positions on various boards including the Rocky River Planning Commission, Magnificat High School, Community Challenge, Kiwanis and the Library Foundation. Paul is committed to offering his business and organizational skills to help maintain Rocky River as a great community.
